Introduction

This document outlines the official pricing policy for mentorship services offered through the platform. It establishes a standardized framework for setting mentor compensation and session pricing to ensure clarity, fairness, and alignment with market dynamics. The policy is designed to uphold the platform’s commitment to transparency, affordability for mentees, and equitable compensation for mentors.

Pricing Philosophy

Our pricing structure is built on comprehensive market analysis rather than arbitrary decisions. We consider:
  • Market Purchasing Power: Understanding what potential mentees can reasonably afford
  • Competitor Landscape: Ensuring our rates remain competitive while delivering superior value
  • Perceived Value: Recognizing and rewarding the expertise and experience mentors bring to our platform

Platform Commission

A standard 25% commission is applied to each session transaction, distributed equally:
  • 12.5% paid by the mentor
  • 12.5% paid by the mentee
This structure promotes shared responsibility for sustaining the platform’s operations and services.

Core Pricing component

1. Mentor Input

When a mentor joins Silah, they provide two main inputs:
  • Hourly Rate: The amount they expect to earn per hour.
  • Weekly Hours: The number of mentoring hours they are committing to deliver each week.
Since Silah defines a month as 28 days (4 weeks), the system converts weekly hours into monthly hours: Monthly Hours = Weekly Hours × 4 This monthly value is the foundation for bundle calculations.

2. Multiplication Factor (MF)

To align with market value and protect platform sustainability, Silah applies an adjustment factor:

  • MFmin = 1 ÷ (1 − Max Discount)
    With a 25% maximum discount, MFmin = 1 ÷ 0.75 = 1.333.
  • Desired Factor (MFdesired): Applied by agreement to bring very low mentor rates closer to market value..
Adjusted Hourly Base Rate = Hourly Rate × max(MFdesired, MFmin)

Bundle Pricing

Silah offers discounts for long-term bundles:
  • 1-month bundle → 0% discount
  • 3-month bundle → 15% discount
  • 6-month bundle → 25% discount
These discounts create two challenges:
  • Market Alignment: Some mentors set very low hourly rates. To ensure market consistency and fair value, Silah may apply adjustments.
  • Platform Protection: Without adjustments, deep discounts may reduce Silah’s 25% commission below a sustainable level.
Adjusted Bundle Base Price = Adjusted Hourly Base Rate × Bundle Hours × (1 − Bundle Discount) Where:
  • Bundle Hours = Weekly Hours × 4 × number of months

Selling Price per Bundle

The initial selling price charged to the mentee is calculated by adding a 12.5% margin to the adjusted bundle base price. Formula:
Selling Price = Adjusted Bundle Base Price × 1.125

Displayed Price per Bundle

For marketing and usability, Silah applies a rounding step to produce attractive bundle prices:
  • Rule: Round to the nearest 9 (e.g., 499, 1,299, 1,619).
  • Displayed Price is the official price shown to mentees.
The difference between the Displayed Price and the calculated Selling Price is shared between the mentor and Silah.

Mentor Compensation

Mentor compensation is calculated as: Formula:Mentor Compensation = (Adjusted Bundle Base Price × 0.875) + [0.875 × (Displayed Price − Selling Price)] This ensures:
  • The mentor always receives their guaranteed 87.5% of the base.
If rounding increases the displayed price, the mentor also benefits proportionally.

Platform Commission

Silah retains: Formula:Platform Commission = (Adjusted Bundle Base Price × 0.25) + [0.125 × (Displayed Price − Selling Price)] This ensures the platform also benefits proportionally from any rounding differen

Payment Policy

Mentors are paid by Silah, not the other way around. All payments flow from mentees to the platform, and from the platform to mentors.

Paused DaysDays when the mentorship bundle is on hold (excluded from active days).

.• Manual Extension → Requested by the mentor to increase bundle duration. Manual extensions are not covered by Silah and do not increase total mentor payment.
Bundle Purchase DateThe date the bundle was purchased.
Bundle Start DateThe date of the first official mentoring session after purchase.
Bundle Expected End DateThe planned completion date of the bundle after considering its start date, bundle standard days, and any extensions.

1. Mentor Total Payment

  • The total payment per bundle is fixed at the time of purchase.
  • TThe bundle payment is fixed at purchase and does not increase or decrease due to pauses or extensions.

2. Payment Release Principle

  • The fixed mentor payment is not released upfront.
  • Instead, it is prorated across the bundle’s standard days and paid gradually over billing cycles.

3. Billing Cycles

  • Payments are processed on a monthly cycle, closing on the last day of each month.
At each cycle, Silah calculates the share of the fixed payment corresponding to the mentee’s active mentoring days.

4. Active vs. Paid Days

  • Active Days → Actual mentoring days when the bundle is running (excluding pauses).
  • Paid Days → Days already paid in previous cycles.
How payment is calculated: Determine the number of unpaid standard days remaining  Remaining=StandardDays−PaidDays  The eligible days to pay = the lesser of Active Days and Remaining unpaid standard days.  Key points:
  • Payment is only for days actually completed.
  • Remaining unpaid days ensures the total payout does not exceed the total days in the bundle.
  •  If Active Days exceed the remaining unpaid days, payment is capped at the remaining days.

Cancellations & Refunds

In case of bundle cancellation due to:
  • Mentor–mentee mismatch,
  • Inability of either party to continue, or
  • Platform-related reasons,
Mentors will be compensated for all completed days.
The mentee may be refunded for the remaining unused portion of the bundle

Discount and Bundle Strategy

The platform may offer discounts on longer bundles or during seasonal promotions. Regardless of the discount level, mentors will always receive their full Adjusted Mentor Compensation as defined in this policy. This ensures that mentor earnings are never reduced below their guaranteed adjusted level.

Periodic Rate Reviews

Mentor pricing on Silah is not static. To ensure fairness, market alignment, and sustainability, the platform conducts rate reviews every 3 months. During these reviews, a mentor’s Adjusted Mentor Compensation may be updated based on:
  • Market trends and shifts in purchasing power,
  • Demand for mentorship services,
  • Mentor performance and feedback, and
  • Platform-wide policy updates.
Mentors will be notified in advance of any changes to their Adjusted Mentor Compensation following these reviews.

Commitment to Mentors

The platform remains committed to:
  • Clarity: All calculations and policies are transparent.
  • Fair Compensation: Mentor experience and contribution are appropriately rewarded.
  • Scalability: Pricing adjusts as mentor profiles grow.
  • Sustainability: Balancing mentor earnings with long-term platform viability.
